Diamond Builders LLC Advisory Council
The Diamond Builders Advisory Council is comprised of individuals who are innovators in their respective fields. The purpose of the Advisory Council is to discuss issues in the housing construction industry and develop sound strategies for Diamond Builders LLC in its market segment: custom built homes in the 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft range with a focus on value. Traditionally, the Council meets weekly in Keego Harbor, MI.
Dr. Harold E. Weiner, PhD, President HiTech Learning, Detroit, MI. Dr Weiner completed his Phd in the School of Education at Michigan State University. Dr Weiner has been the Chairman of the Advisory Council since its inception. Dr Weiner assisted MK Saffer in the delivery of Diamond Builders house #10302 to the Fox Run development in Imlay City in April, 2003.
Martin K. Saffer, MBA, Bethlehem PA and Boston MA, Associate Dean, Graduate Programs in the College of Business and Economics, Lehigh University. Mr Saffer earned his undergraduate and graduate business degrees from Lehigh University. Mr Saffer drove the lead vehicle and directed communications in the delivery of Diamond Builders house #10302 in April, 2003.
David Karapetian, JD, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Mr Karapetian graduated from Harvard University with an AB in Economics and completed his law degree at Wayne State University. He has most recently held the position of VP Human Resources at Dart Oil and Gas in White Cloud, MI.
Dr. Ronald Fogel, MD, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Dr Fogel is the head of the Digestive Health Center of Michigan where he is a physician in Internal Medicine specializing in gastroenterology. He also continues to do research in gastroenterology. Dr Fogel was awarded his medical degree from McGill University.
S Duane Southerland and Linda K Southerland. Mr Southerland earned his undergraduate and graduate engineering degrees from Duke University; he also completed the MBA program at the Fuqua School of Business Administration at Duke University. He is an expert in foundation machines and has assisted in all phases of contruction on several Diamond Builders LLC projects in the Spartanburg, SC area. Linda Southerland graduated from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro and completed the MBA program from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business Administration in Chapel Hill, NC. Mrs Southerland has directed landscape installation and interior design for Diamond Builders LLC.
IN MEMORIAM
The Diamond Builders Advisory Council lost its Chairman in September, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer. Dr Harold E. Weiner will be dearly missed by his friends at Diamond Builders LLC as well as at the weekly Advisory Council meetings. In addition to his many friends, he is survived by his wife, Judith Burkhead-Weiner (MSU) and his daughter, Davita Burkhead-Weiner (Swarthmore/MSU). Judy and Dove will be in our thoughts when we meet again to take up the heady business of home construction and solve the problems of the world.
